I got the Amazon Fire for Christmas

IHeartRadio for listening to my favorite radio talk programs.  You can start the IHeartRadio app and it plays in the background while I change to other apps like the browser for surfing the web.

Facebook app for keeping up with family and friends.  It works just like my ipod touch and iphone.  Actually I think it's just a browser link to m.facebook.com.

YouTube videos all day long.

Free public domain books from Amazon.  Yes, Amazon sells free books.... I've purchased many, many books for $0.00 from Amazon.  The checkout procedure is the same as any other book.  The reciept shows $0.00.  It's a great cheap way to find great books to read without having to cary them around.

Mint.com app is great for keeping me informed of how much money I have in the bank.  The only thing I don't like about the Mint app for Kindle Fire is that I need to hit the refresh button.  On my iphone and ipod the refresh is automatic when I launch the app.

Amazon app, ya sometimes I search Amazon on my Kindle Fire....

Ebay app.  I do everything on Ebay using my Kindle Fire.  I buy, sell, respond to request from potential buyers, setup watch items, bid.

Design, Make, Sell

Is your garage your labratory for building projects?  Do you search for new ideals to build?  Do you have a design you want to create but you need to buy more stuff just to make it?

These days you don't need a garage full of tools and equipment to create your designs.  If you can design it, there is a company like Cafepress website that will build it.

Wouldn't it be great if you had your very own T-shirt factory?  Your designs on fabric would sell, if only you had a way to screen print.  If only you had a website that you could promote and maintain.  What if you created a website and the orders flooded in?  Are you ready to fullfill all the orders?  Could you quit your day job to handle all the sales?  The answer to all these question probably require you to make massive changes in your world in order to sell the T-shirts.  What if you took your designs and outsourced everything to an already established business?

Michael Moore = RichFatCat

I see Michael Moore has been a guest speaker on many TV news episodes as a figure-head of the Occupy Wall Street movement.  I'm amazed this member of the upper 1% is allowed to speak on behalf of the Occupy Wall Street movement.
When Flint Michigan was heading into a recession due to the GM plant closing, I sat and watched this movie hailing Michael for his bravery and passion.  He seemed to go at it alone.  This movie made people stop and think of the decisions that CEO's where making. 
However time has shown that it wasn't decisions of CEO's that was killing jobs at GM.  It was the un-ending and outrageous demands of unions and people like Michael who seem to think corporations and govenments are required to pay people liveable wages and unlimited benefits for their lifetimes.

My biggest hope is to see the next "Michael Moore" type of documentarian walk up to the real Michael Moore with a camera and ask him what will he do about jobs in Flint Michigan or jobs in the US.  There are no CEO's to blame for what the US is going through.  If Michael wants to blame the upper 1% of the people who are millionaires, he should look at himself.  It would be real easy for him to disclose how much he pays in taxes or contributes to charity.  Isn't this what he is asking of the upper 1%?

Make money online with HubPages

I've started my own HubPages so I can have a part time passive income.  My day job pays the bills but it would be great if I had a few more income streams coming in each month. 

Most of the work I do online takes only a few minutes out of my lunch break or after work.  Just a few minutes each day or each week writing a few lines or adjusting ads on my sites is all I can give into this venture.  The rest of my time is taken up by my day job or family time and chores around the house.

I've started writing articles on HubPages and blog entries so I can collect the advertising dollars generated through Google Asense or Amazon Associates.  The more pages I get out on the web, the better chances of picking up clicks or sales. 

My goal is to make lots of tiny places on the web that draw people into clicking on the ads.  You don't get paid until someone clicks and you don't make the big bucks until someone makes a purchase after that click. 

This website http://www.richfatcat.com/ is only one of many websites where I have articles or blog entries that have fairly good content laced with lots of key wording that gets picked up on search engines.  Someone types in Roland SX-15 into a search engine should find a link to my other website http://www.enterjakarta.com/.  My goal is to have a thousand tiny pages spread all over the web collecting small amounts of traffic from multiple sources and maybe one person out of those thousands will click on the ad and buy something.

It's real difficult to draw thousands of people to your website.  If you have a way to draw a crowd of thousands to your website, your a genius.  You shouldn't have a problem making lots of money from your online ventures...but for the rest of us, we have to cast our nets into the river anyway possible.  I choose to cast a thousand nets.

 

One of my many nets I cast and it's my biggest money maker so far is the video I created a few years ago when I bought a vinyl cutter.  It cuts vinyl in patterns so you can create stickers, window decals and even t-shirts.  I made a video on how to use it and one day I got an email from Google saying they would like to monetize the video and share with me the advertising dollars it generates.  So I did.  I enjoy the $5/month I make from my YouTube video, but I would like to multiply that a few more times. 

I'm thinking about what other nets I can cast into the waters.  Maybe it will be CafePress or another YouTube video.  The problem with YouTube videos is that YouTube deciedes which video is worthy of advertising.  So you need to make one that a lot of people will like.....now we are back to casting a large net.  I don't have nets that big....  My videos have little appeal to a large audience.  I can only wish to get lucky as I did with this video on YouTube.
